Pureorganio Organic Coriander Cumin Powder (Dhaniya Jeera Powder) has no harmful chemical and pesticides. It is vegan and also made with traditional hand pounding method. It is certified by Indian organic and USDA Standards.

Coriander, also popularly called Dhania, are little round seeds that are finely grounded to make a powder. Similarly, Cumin or Jeera is a tiny oblong, brown seed widely used in both whole and powdered form. The mixture of the two powders is very frequently used into Indian dishes.

At PureOrganio, we only offer organic indian spices, masalas and seeds that are fully grown organically without the use of harmful chemicals. The seeds are extracted carefully by Indian farmers and further sundried. The organic coriander cumin powder is made from organically grown seeds which means the powder is free of any harmful chemical or pesticides.

All products at PureOrganio comply with the organic certification process of the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP).

FAQs

1. Is coriander powder and cumin powder the same?

Coriander and cumin are different seeds with their distinct flavors and aroma. Cumin is an oblong brown seed, typically as long as a rice grain. Whereas, coriander is a little round seed with a woody appearance.

2. Can you substitute cumin powder with coriander powder?

Since both have a different flavour and aroma, using one instead of the other can make a difference. You may not get the desired taste and flavour if you replace one of these spices with the other.

3. How can I distinguish between cumin powder and coriander Powder?

Cumin and coriander in the powdered form can look very similar. However, you can distinguish between the two by its colour. Cumin will be slightly darker than coriander. You can also locate the difference in their respective aroma.

4. Can I use whole seeds of cumin and coriander instead of powder?

Surely you can do that. However,  powdered Cumin and coriander adds more flavour. Whole spices are ideally suited for tempering while grounded ones add to the consistency and the unique flavour.
